LinkedIn's own recommended size for a page post image is 1200 x 627 px (1.91:1), while ads accept 1.91:1, 1:1 and 4:5 images. Profile covers, page covers, logos and carousel documents each have their own dimensions, listed below.
All sizes here come from LinkedIn's Help Center pages, checked on October 2, 2026. For other networks, see our social media image sizes guide.

What size should a LinkedIn feed post image be?
For a page post, LinkedIn recommends 1200 x 627 px, a 1.91:1 ratio, with a 200 px minimum width. It adds that on mobile, images are not cropped: other ratios show in full with subtle white padding.
LinkedIn does not publish a separate size for organic posts from personal profiles, so we cannot cite one. In our observation, square and 4:5 images fill more of a phone screen than landscape ones. The ad specs below show LinkedIn itself treats 4:5 as a supported ratio.

What size are LinkedIn carousels?
An organic carousel is a document upload, not an image set. LinkedIn accepts PPT, PPTX, DOC, DOCX and PDF up to 100 MB and 300 pages, and every page must be the same size. It names no recommended page dimensions, so pick one ratio and keep it. Our LinkedIn carousel guide covers slide design in depth.
Carousel ads are different. Each card is 1080 x 1080 px (1:1), JPG, PNG or non-animated GIF, with 2 to 10 cards and a 10 MB limit per card. Headlines run two lines before truncating, and saved cards cannot be edited.

What size are LinkedIn banners and logos?
A Page cover image is 1512 x 256 px, PNG or JPEG, under 3 MB. LinkedIn says the cover might be adjusted to fit the screen and trimmed horizontally or vertically, and suggests a high-quality image with limited text. The Page logo is 400 x 400 px recommended, 268 minimum. LinkedIn says it is displayed on both light and dark backgrounds, and that a transparent logo gets a white background.
Many third-party guides still quote 4200 x 700 px for the Page cover. That is not what LinkedIn's Help Center lists today, so we use its figure. A personal profile cover is 1584 x 396 px, JPG or PNG, under 8 MB. LinkedIn notes the image sits behind your profile photo.
What size are LinkedIn ad images?
Single image ads accept three ratios: 1200 x 628 px (1.91:1), 1200 x 1200 px (1:1) and 720 x 900 px (4:5). Files can be JPG, PNG or GIF up to 5 MB. LinkedIn's page says vertical assets for paid single image ads only serve on mobile devices, so desktop viewers will not see that creative.
Recommended copy lengths are 150 characters for intro text and 70 for the headline. Images under 401 px wide display as thumbnails and may be cropped.
Where are the safe zones?
LinkedIn does not publish pixel-exact safe-zone overlays for feed images, so these are our working rules, not LinkedIn specs.
- Keep text at least 5 percent of the width away from every edge, so a trim or padding change cannot cut a word.
- On a page cover, LinkedIn says the image may be trimmed, so keep the message centered and short, and test it at a narrow width.
- On a profile cover, leave the lower-left area free of key content, since the profile photo sits over it.
- On a Page logo, keep the mark inside the square with margin, and preview it on both a light and a dark background before saving.
- In ads, keep the headline in the image minimal; the headline and intro text sit outside the image.
How do you keep every size consistent?
Set one layout per ratio and reuse it, so a 1:1 carousel card, a 1.91:1 post and a cover all share the same fonts, colors and margins. The same discipline applies on other networks: see Instagram Story and Reel safe zones and TikTok cover image size. In Chikaboom, a designer builds the template once and the team only fills the text, with sizes, fonts and colors locked, and text that shrinks inside its box instead of overflowing. You can try it in the live demo. For the full workflow on this network, see our LinkedIn post design guide.
